The first mention of Bochnia dates back to the 12th century, and even then, this place was associated with salt &#8211; the greatest wealth of this land. The biggest attraction of the city is the oldest salt mine in Poland, which used to be intensively used. A visit is made to a corridor 300 meters deep, which is unilaterally and on foot traversed in the carriages. This Baroque &#8211; Renaissance residence of the Ma\u0142opolska magnate families &#8211; Kmita and Lubomirski &#8211; impresses with their beautiful architecture and excellent maintenance. The castle of Wi\u015bnicz was built in the 14th century as a defensive residence of the Kmita family. The centrally located Town Hall on the market square was originally Gothic and dates from the 14th century. Many times it was rebuilt until it received its present renaissance features. It was used to cleanse the body and equipment. As a bath, it was filled with rainwater or water. However, to purify oneself religiously, it always had to be in this water, although there was some rain from the sky.
